With rumours indicating the Apple iPhone 5 will be announced on 12 September, Samsung is apparently wasting no time in prepping its own flagship release, with insiders claiming it will release the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini before the end of the year.
Following the huge success of the original Samsung Galaxy S III, a smaller and more affordable version would be sure to be equally successful, so we’d be surprised if there weren’t some truth to this. And according to the rumours it could even cost about £300 less than the iPhone 5.
The word that is circulating is that the Samsung Galaxy S III Mini will come equipped with a dual-core processor, 4-inch Super-AMOLED screen and a 5-Megapixel camera, putting it firmly in the mid-range category but potentially providing enough punch to deliver great value for money.
Of course at this stage these are all just rumours, as the iPhone 5 isn’t even official yet. But considering the competition between Apple and Samsung it’ll be interesting to see how things pan out in the coming months. And if all these devices make it to market, consumers will have a great Christmas ahead of them.
