Samsung has announced its next smartphone will be a little cheaper on the pocket but a little more fun in the hand, as the Samsung Galaxy Music is a budget Android smartphone with built-in projector and stereo speaker.

The Samsung Galaxy Music isn’t the first budget Android smartphone to feature a built-in pico projector. The Samsung Galaxy Beam came with a 15-Lumen unit but the 9-Lumen rating here should be bright enough for most mobile users.

The Samsung Galaxy Music is based around a 3-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a 240 x 320-pixel resolution, placing it up against the likes of the Nokia Asha 311 both in terms of size and functionality.

Running the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system, Samsung hasn’t revealed details of the processor but you’ll find 512MB of RAM under the hood, as well as 4GB of internal storage, while a MicroSD slot will handle 32GB memory cards with ease.

With a 3-Megapixel camera, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, as well as Accelerometer and Digital Compass, it has sufficient features for a budget handset. What’s more, you’ll find a stereo loudspeaker on the front with SRS Surround Audio Effects and support for music formats OGG and the lossless FLAC – all controlled by the dedicated music player button.

Samsung has yet to announce when the Samsung Galaxy Music will ship, or how much it will cost. However, if it’s to hit the lucrative pre-Christmas market it will need to be released soon.
