Omnia II (I8000)

The Omnia II is aimed at the user demanding an enhanced multimedia experience but on the Windows Mobile platform – meaning the I8910 HD’s 3.7-inch screen has been included. The 480×800 pixel display is of the resistive type, but uses a technology called ‘Advanced R Touch’ to enable a faster, more accurate touch response. The phone also includes Samsung’s own TouchWiz 2.0 front-end user interface, with 3D effects.

The phone includes a 5-megapixel autofocus camera with power LED flash, D1 (720×480 pixel) video capture at 30fps, assisted GPS, HSDPA (7.2Mbps), HSUPA (5.76Mbps) and Wi-Fi connectivity. Three different versions offer 2GB, 8GB or 16GB of integrated storage space, plus the option of a further 32GB via microSDHC cards.

Omnia Pro (B7610)

Boasting a slide out QWERTY keyboard, the B7600 is ideal for email and document editing. Although the screen isn’t as big as the Omnia II, 3.5-inches isn’t exactly small – and it offers the same 480×800 pixel resolution. The camera is also the same (5-megapixel autofocus, but no flash) and there’s Wi-Fi – but mobile data is slightly slower with support for HSDPA at just 3.6Mbps and no HSUPA support at all. Web browsing is made possible with Opera 9.5.

The B7600 also supports DLNA to connect to compatible equipment over Wi-Fi (for example, playing a video on a DLNA enabled television) and there’s also a TV-out connection for those needing a traditional wired output.

The B7600 has 1GB of integrated storage space, with microSDHC expansion to 8, 16 or 32GB.

Omnia Lite (B7300)

With a similar design to the Samsung Tocco Ultra Edition, the third Omnia offers up an easy interface (TouchWiz 2.0 with mobile widgets and ‘3D Media Gate’ enhancement that we can only assume will mimic LG’s S-Class 3D user interface.

The phone has a 3-inch Wide-QVGA (240×400 pixel) display, 3-megapixel autofocus camera and integrated GPS. It also supports Wi-Fi and HSDPA for download speeds of up to 3.6Mbps.
