Here at What Mobile, we are sent many different brands of headphones and earbuds from everyone from Jabra to 1More. In this review, we meet a new brand Lypertek and they have sent us there latest creation the Tevi which retails at £99 on Amazon.

Now first impressions you might be thinking they look very similar the Sennheiser momentum true wireless at £279 and you would be right there a number of similarities sure as the case design and even the design of the earbud. However, that is where the similarities end.

Sennheiser on the left & Lypertek Tevi on the right

The Lypertek Tevi are in the under £100 price mark just but do not act like some budget earbuds we have reviewed. Going back to the design the case like the Sennheiser momentum is a quality design and feels solid and is also doubles as a charger for the buds and on the front of the case it also has 4 LEDs to indicate how much charge is in the case.

Finally, we have an audio company who uses a USB-C charge cable.

The buds themselves, in my opinion, are 100 times more comfortable than the Sennheiser which I really did not get on with. The Tevi’s am wearing now as I write this review and I have been testing these over the last few days sit lovely in your ear and are very comfortable in your ear.  You are supplied with a selection of eartips as well as a pair of foam tips. In this review I chose to keep the tips that come on the buds but have tested all of the buds and all add to the comfort.

Travelling to work using these buds was a joy as they fit in my ear perfectly and apart from the Jabra elite 65t I have found finding a bud with a good fit a challenge.

The spec of these earbuds are Bluetooth 5.0 as well as aptX and AAC audio codecs meaning both android and IOS users will be able to experience a higher quality sound which I will discuss in more detail. The Lypertek Tevi is also IPX 7 rated which it’s waterproof/sweatproof meaning they will be fine if somehow one fail’s out and landed in a puddle or ideal for when using in the gym meaning these who sweat a lot won’t worry about the earbuds being damaged.

One of the specs am so pleased about is the battery life you get 10 hours of use when fully charged and with the use of the charger case you get a whopping 70 hours. I have used these a lot over the last week and not even got close to having to recharge. You also get a quick charge function so if you drain the battery simply charge for 15 minutes and you get 2 hours of charge.

Moving on to the features of the Tevi the buds have a button on each bud as seen on the image below. The buttons are multi-functioned and you can do the following:

  • Play/Pause
  • Track control
  • Volume
  • Taking calls
  • Enable voice assistant

The buttons are very easy to press and do not cause any discomfort when using them you won’t find the bud going deeper into your ear and maybe hurting your ear. I also like the power and pairing the tevi turn on automatically once out of the case and start to pair automatically the first time. Then when you go to use again the turn on and are paired with nothing for you to do. You will also notice these buds use the master & slave technology meaning the first bud you pick becomes the master and also allows for you to use one earbud at a time if you wish.

Moving to the sound quality I was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality considering the price range. The Tevi has graphene-coated 6mm driver and this offers a dynamic sound profile that if you never told me the price I would have put the price of the Tevi closer to the Sennheiser momentum true wireless at £279.

The bass in these earbuds would please the bass fans among us they are well controlled and punchy without feeling too much. The midrange helps the vocals to sound nicely as it comes out very crisp. The treble gives you definition but does not risk fatigue when listening for a long period.

Finally, the Tevi also allows for calls to be made and I have made and received calls on this and the built-in microphone does a nice job of providing quality calls and also when I asked people I called what the sound like they sound I sounded very clear.

Overall, This being the first product from Lypertek that we have reviewed the Tevi surprised me with the build quality and the sound quality. I also liked the multi-function button on both buds and the fact either the left or right bud can be the master allowing you to use just one bud if you wish. My only real negative is that strap on the charging case it’s just not needed and makes it look cheap.

At £99 it gives you a real alternative to the well know brands like Sennheiser and with the Tevi being a cheaper option it’s well worth considering.
