Review: Belkin Boost Up Wireless Charging Pad

In this review, we will be looking at the Belkin Boost Up Charging Pad which is mainly for Samsung devices but you can also charge the likes of LG, Google, Motorola that have QI compatibility. The charging pad currently £46.84 on Amazon offers 15W of charge power which is considerably more powerful than a Samsung Fast Charge wireless pad at 9W.

Design-wise the Belkin charging pad is lightweight and comes with a non-slip matte surface.  Belkin has finished this off with a two-tone design on the pad to make it look good when it’s sitting in your makeshift office now we are all working from home.

Inside the charger, you will find a 15W transmitter coil that helps deliver the fast-changing. It also comes with a thermal protection sensor that maintains a safe operating temperature as I have reviewed some wireless charging that creates some heat that concerned me but I do not have any concern with this charger in terms of overheating.

When you place the phone onto the pad you get a LED to indicate that charging is taking place the LED stays on for the whole time your phone is on a charge.  Last but not least you this charger is powered up by an AC wall adapter that is the normal 12V but with a 2A output meaning its more powerful than its rivals on the market. The only downside you don’t get a USB cable if you wanted to take this on the move but I don’t see this as a game-changer.

Belkin State this charger is suitable for a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and upwards and its also suitable for a wide range of other Qi-compatible devices but the output will vary.  Charging performance on a Samsung S9 we tested it and got from 10% to full battery in about 1hr 30min which was impressive, however, it’s not much fast then what Samsung has on the market which is cheaper.

Overall this is a great charger that looks good and charges your phone in a quick manner and with the non-slip matte finish you don’t have to worry about your phone sliding off like the case on some others on the market. At just under the £50 mark I feel its worth the money especially with the £1500 connected equipment warranty in the event it damages your handset which is a nice touch by Belkin.

The only real negative I can find is it does not allow for USB power port instead of having to the carry the AC Wall adapter if you wanted to take this away on a business trip in the future.
