Some PS4 services to be disabled on day one of Euro launch

Sony has confirmed that some PS4 services will be initially offline when it launches across Europe tomorrow.

Thankfully it’s nothing major – the system’s ‘What’s New?’ section that displays your information will be down, as well as the ‘Content Information Screen’ to display friend’s activity on some games. This measure has been taken to help ensure a smooth launch across the continent, although there’s no guarantee that the PSN will run all that well when everything hits. Don’t forget that the company will have to contend with US servers as well as the additional EU ones when it launches.

Don’t worry, these are only some PS4 features that will be down. You’ll still be able to play online on launch day. Sony hasn’t given word on when these features will be restored but we can’t imagine that it will be too long after launch, should things go according to play.
