PrimeSense being bought up by Apple, motion control incoming?

It’s been rumoured for a little while that motion-sensing company PrimeSense is to be bought up by Apple. Today those rumours are no more as both companies have confirmed the deal.

According to sources at AllThingsD PrimeSense was sold for the region for $360 million. It’s not yet known how the motion control company will be used under the tech-giant’s wing. You might have heard of its motion sensing tech before – it powers the Xbox’s Kinect device. Perhaps we could see the company’s tech implemented in Apple’s 2014 line-up? Gesture-based controls for the iPhone 6 or the next iPads? Or maybe they’ll be focussing on the Mac range?

Either way, we’re sure there’ll be enough space for the new arm in Apple’s recently-approved headquarters.
