Carphone Warehouse has opened the order books for the first mobile phone with a 3D display. The LG Optimus can be ordered from today for delivery on July 7th. The Optimus 3D is free on a £35 per month tariff or above.

Equipped with a 3D camera, allowing you to take 3D pictures and video to enjoy on its glasses-free 3D display, the dual-core Android smartphone also offers class-leading performance from what LG is calling ‘tri-dual technology’; dual-core, dual-channel and dual-memory.

The LG Optimus 3D operates as a normal smartphone until you press the 3D key, which fires up a range of apps and services – from 3D games to YouTube 3D. It ships with Android 2.2 (upgradable to 2.3), 8GB of internal memory (plus memory card slot) and also has an HDMI output.

It is also available to buy from Best Buy stores on the same day.
