Nintendo have announced in their ‘Nintendo Direct’ announcement last night, the original Pokémon games will be available for the Nintendo 3DS.
Last night’s Nintendo Direct announcements were the first since former President Satoru Iwata lost his battle against cancer. Bill Trinen of Nintendo of America announced Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow will be available as digital download titles for the Nintendo 3DS.
The games will be kept to their original forms to retain the feel of nostalgia, so that creepy 4-bit Lavender Town theme track can Haunter (sorry, not sorry) you all over again. There will be no 3D revamp for these classic titles.
One welcomed improvement made is that you will no longer need to rely on those annoying link cables for trading. All three titles will make use of the 3DS’s wireless communication to provide a quick, and less risky way of trading your rarest Pokémon. Making it easier for you to catch ’em all!
No price has been confirmed but all three are confirmed to be released on February 27th 2016, which will be the 20th anniversary of the Pokemon series.
