Compaq Mini 700

Orange is introducing the Compaq Mini 700 netbook on a £30 per month deal (24 month contract), which is more expensive than 3’s £20 a month deal, but comes with a USB dongle offering a 3 Gigabyte monthly data allowance instead of 3’s 1GB – as well as 150 texts.

Toshiba L300

For people requiring more performance, there’s the Toshiba L300. Available for £35 a month (24 month contract) with the same 3GB allowance but 200 texts, the feature packed laptop has a 15.4-inch widescreen display, full size keyboard, 160GB hard drive, DVD player/recorder and webcam. It weighs in at 2.5Kg, somewhat heavier than the 1Kg Compaq.

Huawei E160e dongle

If you already have a laptop, or wish to hook up your desktop PC to the mobile Internet, Orange is now selling the Huawei E160e dongle – an HSPA enabled dongle that also offers up to 8GB of storage with its integrated microSDHC card reader. We suspect it will also work fine with the latest 16GB cards, although this isn’t confirmed.

The E160e can be used on a range of mobile data tariffs, including 30 day tariffs.
