Oppo only launched in the UK earlier this year

Oppo has ramped up its charge in the UK as the Chinese vendor has added O2 as an operator to stock its Reno 5G smartphone.

O2 becomes the second operator to stock the 5G handset after EE, which launched the Reno 5G smartphone earlier this year.

It represents a significant venture into the UK after Oppo announced its arrival in the country in January, initially launching with Carphone Warehouse.

Oppo UK director Michael Tran has welcomed the partnership with O2.

“As a business, OPPO has been at the forefront of 5G innovations since 2015. This year alone, we have invested more than £1billion in research and development into 5G and other related areas such as IoT, AR, VR and more.

“By partnering with O2 we are making our phones and accessibility to the 5G network a reality for more and more UK consumers. Whether it’s streaming high definition video, trying out AR experiences or gaming, the Reno 5G brings game-changing speeds and connectivity to further enhance consumer’s smartphone experience,” said Tran.
