The partnership sees Oppo continue to build brand awareness in Europe

Oppo has agreed a three-year deal to become the official smartphone partner and premium partner of the Roland-Garros and the Rolex Paris Masters after striking an agreement with the French Tennis Federation (FTT).

The partnership runs from 2019 to 2021 and comes after the vendor sealed a five-year deal with the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) last month to become the first-ever official smartphone partner for Wimbledon.

As with Wimbledon, Oppo becomes the first-ever Chinese partner to sponsor Roland-Garros as the manufacturer continues its “In Europe, for global” strategy.

Oppo and Roland Garros will work together across a range of areas including brand awareness, video content production, young talent development and technology and product experience.

Two of Oppo’s flagship smartphones – the Find X and Reno – will be used to capture images at the event and put into a photo gallery at the stadium.

Oppo has also said that in the future there will be a special Oppo zone onsite at Roland Garros where attendees can experience the latest Oppo products.

Oppo vice president Brian Shen said: “Our partnership with Roland-Garros echoes a shared vision and plays a key role in Oppo’s effort to build deeper connections with our users and engage with a wider demographic across Europe.”

FFT president Bernard Giudicelli added: “This joint agreement is a great show of confidence from one of the world’s leading smartphone brands.

“This collaboration, based on the theme of innovation, fits perfectly with the FFT’s international strategy, whose aim is to increase the influence and presence of our tournaments in key markets, such as China.”
