OnePlus 5 Could be Getting Android 8.0 Oreo

OnePlus 5 is currently getting tested using the latest Android Oreo operating system, after appearing on benchmark website GeekBench.

Owners of a OnePlus 5 will be aware that the handset runs on Android 7.1.1, however a posting on GeekBench suggests this could be about to change. The company has been busy testing a closed version on the OnePlus 5, 3 and 3T, however now things seem to be moving forward. The open beta is expected to launch in the coming weeks.

The device is listed as ‘OnePlus 5’, which is pretty self conclusive, while the hardware also matches up. The scores are also very similar to what we’ve seen while testing the handset previously, however the multi-score result was a bit lower. This is likely because it’s running on a pre-release version which needs some fine-tuning to fully take advantage of the hardware.
