Nokia has begun shipping the Nokia N8 to those people who placed a pre-order form Nokia’s online shop. The phone will be available through other retail channels in the coming weeks.

The handset, first announced back in April, is the first smartphone to use the latest Symbian^3 operating system. It has a 12-megapixel camera, Xenon flash, HD video recording and HD video output via HDMI.

It also supports USB On-The-Go, to connect flash drives and other USB storage devices to the N8. This will allow you to connect a USB storage device full of pictures and videos to enjoy on a large screen via the supplied HDMI cable.

All of this is fitted inside a robust aluminium body, which will be available in a choice of colours.
