Way before Hearthstone, Candy Crush and Angry Birds, Snake ruled the mobile gaming world.

The Nokia classic has been revamped for modern smartphones by its creator, Taneli Armanto, and developer, Rumilus Design. Called Snake Rewind, the game will be released on 14 May.

Snake has appeared on home computers under various names since the late ’70s and was ported to the Nokia 6110 in 1997.

From Nokia to iOS, Android and Windows

The revamp will be available on iOS, Android and Windows Phones. Of course there’ll be some new features including the ability to rewind the snake after crashing, new power-ups and new levels.

No details on pricing have been released, but the mention of a fruit store on its official website hints that there could be in-app purchases.
