The Lumia 925 may not have launched in the UK or US just yet, but those of you lucky enough to live in Germany can already get your mitts on it — and Nokia have a little special something for you too, Glance Screen.
You’ll be forgiven for not knowing what exactly Glance Screen is, but in layman’s terms, it’s essentially a clock which remains on the standby screen even when the screen is switched off.
It’s not just a one trick pony though, as can also glance at your battery level, and your current ringtone profile — just in case you’ve left your phone on loud before that big meeting.
If these features all sound familiar to you, that’s because they are. Old Nokia smartphones running the Symbian operating system, which the company ditched in favour of Microsoft’s Windows Phone, already have this functionality.
Whilst Glance Screen is coming first to the Lumia 925, Nokia has promised that it should be able to run on most Lumias running the Windows Phone 8 operating system, and will be delivered in conjunction with the Amber software update.
