Nikon embraces the selfie stick

From getting mocked by Motorola to being banned in Premier League football stadiums; selfie sticks have definitely proven themselves as more than a mere gimmick.

Nikon has embraced the selfie stick and released its own version called the N-MP001. The N-MP001 has been designed to work with the Nikon’s latest Coolpix cameras and are able to hold devices that weight a maximum of 14 ounces. The Nikon N-MP001 goes from 7.28 inches to 28.54 inches when fully extended. The bottom of the stick also has a foam grip for comfort, and a strap to help you carry it around.

These selfie sticks aren’t cheap, however, and cost $59.95 (£40.24). That’s quite an expensive price tag, Nikon, considering you can pick one up from Amazon for less than £3.
