Ahead of HTC’s big unveiling at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona later this month, it looks like their latest flagship smartphone has already leaked.
A thoroughly believable image has surfaced on Twitter which seems to show the new phone (known so far as the M8) from the back side.

The phone is a sequel to the HTC One and, if the image is anything to go by, the design certainly seems to be largely similar. More stretched out in proportions than the average smartphone, this new model seems to be slightly more rounded on the sides than the One – but that’s not what’s most interesting about it.
The M8 seems to have two rear-facing cameras, a smaller one placed directly above a larger lens.
What purpose could this serve? Could the top lens in fact be a scanner, Ã la the iPhone 5s? Whatever its purpose, this leak is possibly the best thing that could have happened for HTC. The ailing Taiwanese manufacturers are heavily relying on this new smartphone to save their skins, and the photo has certainly got techies talking.
All eyes are now on Barcelona, and the WMC on February 24th-27th, when the phone will officially be revealed to the masses.
