Available This Spring, Largest Collection of Best-Selling Cubelets Blends Learning with Play

Modular Robotics, the creators of Cubelets robot blocks, today announces the launch of its new Cubelets Curiosity Set at Toy Fair 2019 in New York City. This set is available for $249.95 for purchase directly at our site, Amazon and select speciality toy retailers and will ship next month. Ideal for ages 4+, Cubelets robot blocks inspire future storytellers, scientists and designers to learn through hands-on play and interaction. Educators and children across the globe have discovered Cubelets as engaging and intuitive little robots that help introduce children to the concepts of engineering, design, and computational thinking.

The Curiosity Set is a collection of 10 of our best-selling Cubelets and the Bluetooth hat, providing the newest ways to interact. The set includes more blocks to play, learn, and create with so builders can invent more robots and develop more skills in the process. The Curiosity Set is the second set to include the Bluetooth Hat, a fast and easy link between robot constructions and the new Cubelets app. With the free companion app, you can remotely control your robot constructions and explore hundreds of robot-building possibilities using Personality Swap, a new feature that changes the behaviour of any Cubelet with the touch of a button. While learning to code, kids can make any Cubelet do something different at the touch of a button, like turning a regular Flashlight Cubelet into one that blinks. The Remote Control feature inside the app lets you learn how data affects the behaviour of a robot construction when you build your own remote control robots.

“Everyone from robotics beginners to seasoned creators can enjoy Cubelets. They’re a great way to explore coding and computational thinking challenges while developing new skills through play. We’re confident that children in living rooms and classrooms everywhere will love creating with our new Cubelets Curiosity Set,” said Stu Barwick, Product Manager at Modular Robotics.

Our Cubelets Curiosity Set includes the:

  • Bluetooth Hat- Easily connect your robot creations, whether a speeding car or a flashing lighthouse, with wireless devices such as phones or tablets.

  • Cubelets App- Available for iOS, Android, and FireOS to create remote control robot constructions.

  • Personality Swap feature- Change how any Cubelet behaves at the touch of a button. Includes Flashlight, Rotate, Battery, Passive, Inverse, Brightness Cubelets. Plus, two Distance and two Drive Cubelets. For example, make your Drive Cubelet spin around or turn your Flashlight into a disco-blinking wonder. No coding required.

  • Brick Adapter- Add style and expand building capabilities with Cubelets by combining them with LEGO® or other brick building toys.

“Cubelets instantly engage students in learn-by-doing experiences that foster creativity and problem-solving skills. Our student’s design, test, and build robots by configuring Cubelet blocks in endless combinations. Since Cubelets lend themselves to open-ended play and exploration, students enjoy invaluable ah-ha learning moments right out-of-the-box which is why they’re one of the most popular components in Boulder Valley School District’s Mobile Maker Kits,” said Zoe Midler, Digital Literacy Specialist, BVSD.
