New details of the upcoming HTC flagship, codename ‘Hero’, have been leaked which indicate a very high-end device with powerful specifications.

It’s rumoured that the company may be dropping the One brand altogether, with the new device being named HTC O2 rather than the expected One M10.

Word is that the device will include a range-topping Snapdragon 820 and a 6 inch Quad HD display, which puts it firmly in phablet territory. The device is expected October of this year, however the Snapdragon 820 isn’t expected to release until 2016. It’s a similar case of what we saw with the Xiaomi Mi5, suggesting that the chipset may be available earlier than expected. That or all of these smartphone manufacturers are getting a little ahead of themselves.

Other specs are slightly more reliable, with 4GB RAM and a large 3,500mAh battery thought to be included. There’s also a couple of high capacity storage options available, ranging from 64GB to 128GB. Featuring  rumoured all-metal design without any plastic, it’s safe to say that expandable memory probably won’t be included.
