Microsoft has bought the keyboard app developer for a a reported $250 million according to The Financial Times.

SwiftKey is one of the most popular keyboard apps for iOS and Android. Microsoft has it’s own keyboard swiping app called Word Flow, which is also coming to iOS soon. Microsoft will likely rebrand SwiftKey and Word Flow as Microsoft announce they will look to integrate them both.

“In the coming months, we’ll have more to share about how we’ll integrate SwiftKey technology with our Guinness World Record Word Flow technology for Windows.”

SwiftKey will join a list of examples showcasing Microsoft’s continued push to provide software to iOS and Android. Microsoft also acquired Sunrise and Acompli, and has been producing a number of custom iOS and Android apps as a part of its Garage Program.
