LG has announced four new mid-range devices, but only spoke about two in particular. The juiced up LG X Power and the pacey LG X Mach.
Following the successful release of the LG G5, it’s not too surprising to see the Korean company make some new announcement to fill in the mid-range market.
If the name hasn’t given it away already, the X Power is all about power. Not processor power mind you as it is a mid-range device, but battery capacity. The average capacity for flagship devices is around 3,000mAh, The X Power wants to take you further than 24 hours of battery with a massive 4,100mAh battery.
It will have a 5.3-inch D display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB internal memory. The front snapper is 13-megapixels while the front snapper is 5-megapixels.
What’s impressive about the X Power is the size, despite the massive battery. It only weighs 139g and measures in at 148.9 x 74.9 x 7.9mm.
When it does eventually drain it can be charged via microUSB using fast charging. The X Power will come in Indigo, White, Gold, Titan, Black.
As for the Mach it’s made for speed, again not referring to the processing power. It is referring to network speeds, by pushing connections with LTE Cat 9 data transfer. The Galaxy S7 and HTC 10 already sport LTE Cat 9, it was strange to see LG only include LTE Cat 6 for the LG G5. Now we know why.
It has a hexa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB internal storage. The display outperforms the X Power due to a larger 5.5-inch quad HD IPS display.
The rear-facing camera is 12.3-megapixels, capable of better low-light pictures than the Max with a larger 1.55μm pixels. Front-facing camera is 8-megapixels.
Another feature over the X Power is a fingerprint sensor on the back with volume keys, a classic LG feature. A decent 3,000mAh battery is included.
Two more devices were announced but were not fully disclosed to TechRadar. They are the LG X Style and LG X Max.
LG X Style has “gracefully curving lines” and apparently a slim body.
LG X Max will be a phablet with the size not being disclosed, but assume north of 5.5-inches with the display. LG said it will be “the ideal phone for consuming multimedia content.” So assume a high-res panel too.
