LG say device will be cheaper than other flagships but pricing is currently unavailable

LG has announced the launch of its latest flagship device, the LG Wing, a smartphone with a unique swivel screen form.

The smartphone swivels out to form a T shape with a smaller screen underneath it. These screens can be used independently of each other or in conjunction when using gaming apps.

The LG Wing features a 6.8-inch FHD+ P-OLED FullVision main display with a secondary 3.9-inch G-OLED screen.

You can switch into swivel mode with a simple slide to have the main screen rotate 90 degrees and use supported apps on both screens.

The Korean manufacturer says the phone’s hinge mechanism is highly durable and has proven to be reliable even after 200,000 swivels in testing.

The LG Wing is powered by a Snapdragon 765G chipset, coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

It also features a triple-camera setup on the back, featuring a 64MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-side “Big Pixel” lens, and a 13MP ultra-wide lens. The phone also has a 32MP pop-up selfie camera and a 4,000mAh battery with wireless charging.

“LG WING ushers in a new era of mobile discovery and is an exciting beginning to our Explorer Project initiative,” said president of LG’s Mobile president Morris Less.

“Different than anything else on the market today, this innovative device challenges the industry status quo and provides consumers with a new mobile experience that will open up new ways to think about the smartphone.”

The LG Wing will launch in South Korea next month, with North America and Europe to follow. Currently, pricing is unavailable.
