LG has confirmed that the LG Rolling Bot will be getting released in the UK, after the company initially said that the product may never get a commercial release.
Initially, the electronics manufacturer said that the LG Rolling Bot was only an internal prototype but due to public demand, they decided to release it. The cute little spherical ball features a plethora of technology on board, including an 8 megapixel camera, speaker and laser pointer. The device is controlled via your smartphone using the Android or iOS application.
We had a chance to try out the toy at MWC and it was surprisingly fun and easy to control. If you’re someone who has pets, then this could be a handy little tool to keep them busy while you’re pre-occupied. The addition of the camera and speaker also opens up all sorts of possibilities for playing pranks with friends.
The LG Rolling Bot is now up for pre-order at MobileFun for £229, with deliveries due to begin on August 1st. Considering it’s a niche product, we can somewhat justify the high asking price. Still, you could pick up a half decent smartphone for that amount of money…
