LG has quietly launched a new budget tablet in Korea and Canada, shipping with some fairly nice mid-range specifications.
The LG G Pad III 8.0 comes with an 8-inch Full HD display in a 16:10 ratio, making it more useful for reading and textual content. The processor is a 1.5GHz ‘octa-core CPU’ (likely the Snapdragon 617), while 2GB RAM is on offer.
Internal memory is available in both 16GB and 32GB versions, while a microSD slot taking cards up to 2TB in size is also included. The front shooter is an 8 megapixel sensor which should be good for video calls, while the rear camera is a lesser 5 megapixels. A fairly large 4,800mAh battery is included, while the device will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and Micro USB, which is fairly standard for a budget tablet.
The LG G Pad III is priced at ©330,000 in Korea, which comes out to £190.66 ($278). Whether it will ever reach the UK we don’t know, but we’ll let you know either way.
