LG Optimus G Pro to showcase at Mobile World Congress

The announcements just keep coming – the LG Optimus G Pro will make an appearance at Mobile World Congress.

No word yet on a United Kingdom release but the release confirming the phone’s appearance at MWC also confirmed its release in Korea, as per our story last week.

The key spec were also confirmed, including that the device will be 4G LTE-enabled and have a 5.5 inch full HD display at 1920 x 1080.

It will run Android Jelly Bean (4.1.2) and will measure 150.2 x 76.1 x 9.4mm.

The phone will be packing a 3140mAh battery with wireless charging capabilities and a 13MP rear camera with a 2.1MP front camera.

A few features were also detailed, including dual recording, allowing users to capture video with both front and rear cameras simultaneously, and virtual reality panorama, which allowed shots of horizontal and vertical environments for a 360 degree view.

LG electronics mobile communications company Dr Jong-seok Park said the Optimus G Pro was developed specifically to deliver “vivid and superb” picture quality in a large display smartphone form factor.

The handset would be on display in Hall 3 at LG’s booth, the company said.
