While the original PRADA phone was more style over substance, the latest offering is packed with features and will easily stand its ground amongst the higher end phones on sale today.
Although the KF900 will command a premium price on account of its association with the top Italian fashion label, LG hopes it will justify its price by offering exclusivity. It also has a new active Flash-based user interface, an improved touchscreen with multitouch control (ala iPhone) and exclusive ring tones, wallpapers and videos. The other ace up the sleeve is the slide out QWERTY keyboard, allowing easy text input in addition to on-screen methods.
The PRADA phone will also let you view Microsoft Office documents (Word, Excel etc), Adobe PDFs and text files, although you can’t edit them. Combined with its email capabilities, any wannabe fashionista can still work on the go without needing to resort to a highly unfashionable smartphone.
The handset will hit European stores in late November, and the price is still to be confirmed. But, we wouldn’t expect it to be cheap – and neither would the likely customers, who want to be seen to own something special.
