LG G4 beat rivals to Marshmallow 6.0

The LG G4 will be the first third party Android phone to get Marshmallow 6.0.

The update will roll out next week but weirdly enough it will be in Poland, with UK and US release dates to be confirmed. Google’s own Nexus devices have already received the latest Android update.

Marshmallow 6.0 will bring to the LG G4 a Do Not Disturb feature which completely mutes the phone or alarms and notifications in another mode. Those super annoying permission pop ups have been simplified to make access easier.

“By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of our competitors,” said Chris Yie, vice president and head of marketing communications for LG Mobile Communications Company. “While speed alone isn’t an indicator of great service, it does go a long way toward giving consumers the confidence that LG is committed to its existing customers first.”

Android Marshmallow will be coming to LG devices at different times with confirmation times to be confirmed for different markets.
