The HTC One M9 isn’t even a month old yet and we’re already getting rumours about new versions of HTC’s flagship smartphone.
Details on China’s TENAA certification database indicate that a phone, code-named M9e, may boast high-end hardware beneath a plastic shell.
The HTC M9e could come with a 5.2-inch Quad HD display that has four times the quality of standard 720p HD. The phone may also feature a 20MP rear camera with dual-tone flash.

Underneath the shell is a 2.2GHz octa-core processor with 3GB of RAM, whilst it’s also rumoured that the phone will get an UltraPixel front-facing camera, microSD expansion, and a fingerprint reader.

A plastic shell may be used as the HTC M9e’s coat in order to bring down its costs compared to the all-metal version.
