According to data compiled by CompareMyMobile.com, 17.9% of people did not think that the iPhone 6S had a stand out feature.
A shocking statistic as the iPhone 6S is the first phone to fully push pressure-sensitive screens to the mainstream public. Survey takers had said “Apple needs to improve its features”. Huawei had an earlier version of the technology called Knuckle Sense, which was featured on the Huawei P8. Which shows that Apple aren’t as innovative as they used to be.
But 32.5% of people did think that the 3D Touch is a standout feature, which was the majority vote when asked about the iPhone 6S’s standout feature. There was a 196% increase in trade-ins with the 5S, the 6 Plus not too far behind with 190% and the iPhone 6 was at 145%. Understandable as the 5S is quite dated and the 6 Plus has design problems, as iOS users traded in to get the 3D Touch capable 6S.
Ashley Turner, co-founder of CompareMyMobile said: “iPhone 6 trade-in spikes show that consumers are less content with waiting two years to upgrade, as their need for the very latest tech grows.
Meanwhile Samsung trade-ins fell by 17% in the four weeks after the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus launch. This contradicts data from last year, where Samsung trade-ins increased by 3% in the four weeks following the iPhone 6 launch in 2014.
Despite increased Samsung loyalty, 21.4% of participants were switching from Samsung devices to the iPhone 6S, while 45.7% were already loyal iPhone users.
A staggering 81.9% of participants said they would not consider buying an iPhone 6C if it was launched by Apple. Showing that despite the lack of innovation by Apple is not hurting their sales, as brand loyalty is still strong.
