iOS 7 bug allows users to bypass lockscreen

With each never version of an OS, there’s bound to be some bugs, of course iOS 7 brought a whole ton of bug fixes, but a whole bunch of new ones tagged along with it.

The late vulnerability appears to be one of a rather serious nature, allowing people to bypass the lockscreen and access the user’s photo gallery. Once in the gallery, the infiltrator can then hijack your social networking or email account.

Now to do this, it’s a rather long winded process, requiring you to pull up Control Center, access the alarm clock, activate multitasking and head into the camera app. Bear in mind for them to do this, you need to actually have the camera app running — so just make sure you close it if you’re worried.

Another quick and easy fix is to just disable the control center on the lockscreen altogether, that way there’s no way something like this could happen.

The good news in reference to this bug is that Apple is taking it “very seriously,” and is already planning on delivering a fix in a software update.

Currently we’ve been able to verify it works on old iPhones, namely the iPhone 5 and 4S, but we’re not sure whether or not it will work on Apple’s latest crop of phones, the 5s and 5c.
