i-mate 810-F: A smartphone adventure

The i-mate 810-F is a phone designed (according to the press release) for “those people who work in the office during the day, but want to go surfing after work.  Or, a contractor working in the tough environment of a building site who also goes fishing on the weekend.”

We’re not so sure who fits into that category, but we can’t fault a device that can take all the bumps and spills of daily life without skipping a beat.

Running Windows Mobile 6.1, the 810-F is a tri-band 3G (with HSDPA) and quad-band GSM phone that has a QVGA (320×240 pixel) display, QWERTY keyboard, 2.2GB of storage, 128MB RAM, 2-megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, digital compass, accelerometer and Bluetooth. And you can enjoy all this while in the swimming pool!

i-mate is so confident that this phone can cope with all conditions (from -10 to 60 degrees celsius) that they’re even shipping it with a lifetime warranty when it goes on sale in the next few weeks.
