Hot on the heels of the excellent Huawei Ascend G300, Huawei has released the Android-powered Huawei Honor (or Honour as us Brits will be calling it) in the UK.

The stylish Android smartphone packs a 4-inch Gorilla Glass capacitive touchscreen, 8MP and 2MP rear- and front-facing cameras and runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS.

Launched with a recommended retail price of around £250, you can already find some great SIM-free deals, with retailers such as Expansys offering it for just £210.

When we reviewed the Huawei Honor, we found it to be a great smartphone for first-time buyers, offering gorgeous video playback, comfortable usability and decent performance for the price.

And while Huawei may not be a big name in the UK yet, if the quality of the Huawei Honor and Huawei Ascend G300 are anything to go by, that is sure to change very soon.
