HTC reported a profit of just $41 million for the second quarter of 2013 compared to $246 million last year.
HTC’s profits have seen a dramatic upsurge from the last quarter when profits of just $2.8 million were reported due to delays in launching the company’s new flagship phone the HTC One.
With the successful launch and high sales of the HTC One phone the company were able to make a significant recovery but still fell short of the $70 million in profit analysts had hope to see. Reuters reported that lower profits came in towards the end of the quarter as initial hype of the release of the HTC One died down and Samsung’s Galaxy S4 became more widely available, down 24% from May to June.
