HTC has launched the HTC Desire C, an entry level handset targeted at users upgrading to their first smartphone.

The Desire C features a 3.5-inch screen, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC’s Sense 4 user interface, a five megapixel camera and a 600MHz processor.

In the UK the Desire C will come in Black and White, however it is also available in red in other markets.

It also comes with 25GB of free cloud storage from Dropbox, which was first introduced by HTC for its One range released earlier this year, and the Beats audio software featured in previous handsets.

HTC said the Desire C will be available from Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, Virgin Media, Three, O2, Phones4U, The Carphone Warehouse, and Tesco Mobile.

T-Mobile has confirmed the device will go on sale from June free on a £15.50 per month, 24 month contract, or for £169.99 on prepay.
