HTC have announced their new head of EMEA today as Philip Blair.

Following former UK and Ireland regional director Phil Roberson’s departure to pursue new opportunities, vice president of product and operations for EMEA Philip Blair stepped into the role.

And now Blair is also taking over from EMEA president Florian Seiche.

Blair co-founded the EMEA arm of HTC in 2005, Mobile News reported, and HTC said he had worked closely with Florian Seiche, whom he would be replacing, during this time to grow the business.

HTC said Seiche had decided to leave the company, and Blair would be responsible for leading HTC’s growth across EMEA as well as heading up the UK arm of the business.

“Phil’s depth of experience in the smartphone market, intrinsic understanding of mobile products and long-standing relationships with key industry partners put him in a strong position to create new opportunities for the business, taking HTC into its next phase of growth.”

The word on the tech street is that Seiche is off to Nokia as head of European sales.
