Google Glass 2 confirmed, improvements detailed, free to swap

We heard that the next iteration of Google Glass was rumoured to be announced soon, and now it’s official. The Google Glass 2 (our name, not theirs) will be available to current users including developers later on in the year.

The new device comes with a mono earbud, finally addressing the issue of using the device without audio. We recently heard that the rumoured Samsung specs would have two earbuds, so it’s lost half of its advantage here.

Another important new feature is compatibility with prescription glasses. Previously Glass was unusable to anyone who needed aid with their eyesight, but that all changes with the new model. Google Glass 2 may well be the version that sees retail release in the future. We certainly hope it’s released sooner rather than later.
