EE announced today that it will be the first network to offer Enhanced HD Voice calling, bringing enhanced quality.
The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be the first handsets to take advantage of Enhanced HD Voice calling. The feature is known elsewhere in the world as Enhanced Voice Services. It uses 4G frequencies and WI-FI to improve the quality of calls even more than the current ‘HD Voice’. You won’t be able to use it in standard 3G or 3.5G areas. On the plus side, EE’s 4G network covers more than 85% of the UK geography, so there’s plenty of opportunity for usage.
Although the Apple iPhone 8 and 8 Plus will be the first to handsets to take advantage, other compatible devices will be released in coming months.
