A leaked photos shows a Xiaomi device with a curved screen, which can be potentially the Mi 5.
Rumours are swirling in regards to Xiaomi taking a leaf out of Samsung’s books by developing two versions of their new flagship device. Samsung’s S6 range offered the usual flat screen we see in 99% of smartphones, but what caught out eye was of course the S6 Edge. It seems the S6 Edge has started a new trend, perhaps a new norm too, as Xiaomi is looking likely to release an edge version of the Mi5. Rumours have been boiling since last year about Xiaomi creating a curved screen device, if proven true it’s been a poorly kept secret.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 was expected last year but it seems that Xiaomi held off to incorporate the Snapdragon 820 processor. A wise move as the 810 was becoming quite dated. 4GB RAM is expected in the flagship device with 16-64GB of internal memory to be included, no word on expandable memory yet. The Mi 5 is expected around Chinese New Year (February 8th) to take advantage of the holiday.
