Cheap Galaxy S7 smartphones could well be on their way as Samsung are reportedly starting a phone refurbishment shop, to sell used devices.

Sources close to Reuters said Samsung are planning a refurbishment store, with the intention to sell used and refurbished premium smartphones as early as next year.

The smartphones will be of ensured quality, as the manufacturer apparently only be selling devices, returned by customers who signed up for the Samsung one-year upgrade program.

A Cheap Galaxy S7, what more could you want?

Refurbished devices are defined by small aesthetic damage to the body and even the box it came with. Refurbished products from the original manufacturer are often indistinguishable from factory fresh versions, making this a big deal indeed. The only question now is, how much will Samsung charge for a cheap Galaxy S7?

According to the source speaking to Reuters, US and South Korean customers are held in mind for the refurbishment store. If the store does come to life, we could be seeing a similar scheme in the UK.

Deloitte says the used smartphone market will be worth more than $17 billion this year, with 120 million devices sold or traded in to manufacturers or carriers – around 8 percent of total smartphone sales.

According to the source, the refurbishment program will commence in 2017. A spokesman speaking to Reuters said Samsung will not comment on speculation.
