You’ve read the title, so you should be feeling one of two ways right now: either you’re excited by the news, or you’ve already got the game and therefore aren’t particularly interested.
If somehow you’ve never heard of the game before, then congratulations on being the first human to live on Mars. Infinity Blade III is the third instalment of ChAIR’s phenomenally successful iOS slash-em-up. A series which has uniquely received the trifecta of critical praise, huge popularity and actual depth and quality of design, Infinity Blade sees your nameless protagonist duel his way through through a fantasy world in hopes of finally slaying the God King.
Its two predecessors have not only provided a solid gameplay foundation which ChAIR have done well to build upon, but they’ve even managed to create an engrossing universe and interesting storyline which compels the player along their quest.
Gameplay is a ‘minute to learn, lifetime to master’ sort of affair wherein the player faces off against an unending array of beautiful and terrifyingly designed opponents, swiping the screen to slash, jab, parry and block their way to victory. When combined with literally infinite replayability and the all-important RPG aspect (which seems to be in just about every mobile game nowadays) it makes for a brilliant experience – one of the most comprehensive available on mobile.
The price has been chopped (eh? eh?) from a steep £2.99 to much more palatable £1.99. There’s no word on when the offer expires so you’d best act quickly.
