BlackBerry are making certain BBM features free for all users.
BBM users on iOS and Android will be allowed to use the following:
Retract – handily allows you to delete messages from the sender and the recipient
Timer – sets a time limit for messages and pictures, after which the content becomes unavailable
Private Chat – removes names and avatars to chat across all platforms
The privacy features were introduced two years ago as part of a £0.99 subscription service. It’s a lovely gesture from BlackBerry, but its a bit late with so many people moving onto other communications apps. The features above are nice and very handy, but we don’t think it’ll sway people back onto the BB hype. We hope the handful of people who still uses it, enjoys the new features.
