Blackberry has lost one of its biggest business customers in the UK with drinks manufacturer Britvic deciding to make the switch to Lumia devices and Nokia services.
Britvic is the UK provider for high profile global brands likes Pepsi and 7Up and represent the loss of a major client for Blackberry. Britvic is now halfway through a rollout of 800 Nokia Lumia 720 devices which will feature the Windows Phone 8 operating system.
With comments earlier this month from a senior analyst that Blackberry should abandon their handset division entirely the loss of a major business client doesn’t bode well.
Head of IT Shared Services at Britvic John Armstrong said the decision to make the switch was based on the company’s existing Microsoft network and the high quality cameras available on Lumia devices.
If Blackberry is going to survive it cannot afford to continue losing ground in their B2b heartland, and today’s news means that it now looks like they have stiff competition from Nokia.
