ASUS has announced its flagship ZenFone 6 smartphone will feature an innovative flip camera and “notchless” all-screen display.

The smartphone was launched by ASUS in Valencia yesterday (May 16) where the brand showcased its latest handset.

The camera is a motorised flip-up module that contains a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera, along with a 13MP secondary camera that is driven by a customer precision motor that helps switch the cameras from rear to front use.

There is a 6.4-inch Full HD display, with a screen-to-body ratio of 92 per cent that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6.

Inside, the ZenFone 6 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, while there is a 5,000mAh batter that ASUS claims can provide up to two days of use.

Other features include 8GB RAM, 256GB of internal storage, rear fingerprint sensor and five finger 360 degree recognition.

Commenting on the ZenFone 6 www.comparemymobile.com mobile expert Rob Baillie said: “The camera is the real talking point of this phone, as well as offering the visual focus.

“Introducing the first flippable camera in a smartphone, the design comes with no notches, making it sleeker and more streamlined than others on the market. Being able to achieve as high quality photos in selfie mode as you’d expect with the back camera will be a real selling point of this phone, particularly to younger markets.”
