Apple iPad mobile data price comparison table
Here’s our guide to the total cost of ownership for the different mobile broadband offerings for the iPad, including an alternative option that could save you even more money if you’re willing to do without GPS.
The prices are for the cost of ownership over 12 and 18 months (the latter being so you can compare it to what you’d generally expect if you bought a mobile phone on contract). We’ve included the daily prices, which you’d never actually subscribe to for every single day of a year, but it does show the overall amount of data you will get.
Only O2, Orange and Vodafone offer Micro SIM cards for use in the iPad, although it is possible to trim a normal SIM card to fit. If you’re willing to take the risk of destroying your current SIM, you could find even more competitive mobile broadband deals.
UPDATE: Vodafone has now adjusted its £10 offering. Instead of 250MB per month, they have increased the allowance to 1GB. The website is also showing the £25 per month offering as Unlimited, however that is with the additional note that this is subject to a 5GB Fair Use Policy (in other words, it hasn’t changed at all). Cheeky gits!

Additional data can be purchased on top – see 3’s website for details. The MiFi may be used with up to 5 Wi-Fi enabled devices simultaneously. PLEASE NOTE THE WI-FI MODEL DOES NOT INCLUDE GPS.
