Apple finally unveils over-ear AirPods Max

Apple’s first over-ear headphones will be available on December 15 for £549

Apple has confirmed the release of the long rumoured over-ear headphones with the AirPods Max.

The smartphone vendor has unveiled the earphones in time for Christmas with availability beginning on December 15.

The wireless headphones will feature a 40mm dynamic driver which will cover a range of pitches, from deep bass to high frequency sounds.

The company says that the headphones will provide up to 20 hours of audio and talk time when fully charged.

Apple’s latest product will also feature Active Noise Cancellation and spatial audio. The headphones will also comes with additional features such as automatic switching, audio sharing and Siri capabilities.

Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing Greg Joswiak said: “AirPods are the most popular headphones in the world, beloved for their effortless setup, incredible sound quality, and iconic design.

“With AirPods Max, we are bringing that magical AirPods experience to a stunning over-ear design with high-fidelity audio.”

The AirPods Max are available to order from apple.com for £549 and will begin shipping on December 15.
