Another Xiaomi Mi5 image has leaked

A fresh image of the Xiaomi Mi5 has given us a glimpse of what to expect from the rear of the device.

We already know what most of the device will look like and that Xiaomi are gearing up for a Windows 10 version to be launched at MWC, but this is the first time that we have actually seen the rear of the handset. A new photo from Chinese social network Weibo shows what appears to be the rear panel of the Mi5, with an all-glass back with a brushed Gold finish underneath. There’s a chance this handset could come in various colours, much like the Mi4 did before it.

Previous renders and leaks have suggested that the Mi5 case will be curved much like the Galaxy handsets, while this image seems to contradict this with a flat rear panel. Still, it’s worth noting that it is not currently attached to the device, meaning that there is a possibility it could be curved when added on.

Specs for the Mi5 are still up in the air, though a recent GFXBench listing gives a bit more concrete information. The device will have a 5.7-inch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution, not the QHD like some people expected. It will be powered by the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset and feature 3GB RAM, with storage options for 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. There’s also rumours of a 4GB RAM version on the horizon.

The device is expected to be revealed February 24th during Mobile World Congress.
