As of today the Galaxy S6 and S6 edge will receive the upgrade to Android Marshmallow 6.0 globally.

The S6 line will be the first Samsung devices to receive the new Android upgrade. Other devices such as the Galaxy tab S2 will also get the new Android update, Samsung has confirmed this but it will be later on it separate announcements.

Marshmallow will not only provide a faster UI and fingerprint sensor. Uniquely it will also bring new edge screen features. Previously we were limited to just a portion of the screen when using edge apps or edge people, 260 pixels to be exact. Now edge screens can stretch to 550 pixels, making use of a lot of empty space, providing more information.

Check out the before and after Marshmallow pictures below. S6 edge users should receive an update today, depending on which markets are scheduled first.
