As the hype around the Samsung Galaxy S5 swirls to into an unprecedented maelstrom of rumour and gossip and desperation, yet another leak has surfaced pertaining to the unreleased smartphone.
This latest image is of the S5’s box. Not that packaging would normally be all that interesting, but what makes this snap interesting is that it is of the rear of the box – with all of the phone’s specifications listed.
The details are either promising or disappointing, depending on which way you look at it, as they run incredibly close to what we already thought we knew through previous speculation.
As expected, the S5 will be powered by a 2.5 GHz Quad Core processor, with 3 GB of RAM. Similarly, the potential 5.25-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) Super AMOLED display was also as predicted.
One deviation arrives in the form of the camera. The ‘box’ proclaims 1080p Full HD recording and playback, which may just slightly disappoint fans who were hoping for 4k recording, as offered on Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3 phablet.
Although this is all still just speculation until the S5’s big unveil at the Mobile World Congress later this month, we’re inclined to buy into the legitimacy of the leaked photo. If it turns out to be fake, then we’ll happily give credit to what would surely be one of the internet’s finest photoshops.
