Alcatel OneTouch will release a new Windows 10 Mobile smartphone before the end of the year, according to a recent interview.
Steve Cistulli, senior vice president for North America, said in an interview that the company is “Very supportive of the Windows ecosystem”.
The device in question is expected to be the Fierce XL, a smartphone recently leaked by renowned whistleblower Evan Blass over at @evleaks. The rumoured hardware for the device is a bit odd, as everything is mid-range aside from the processor.
It’s expected to be a 5.5-inch 1280 x 720 low-end device that uses the entry-level Snapdragon 210, yet ships with an impressive 2GB RAM. The cameras will both be decent, with and 8 megapixel rear and 2 megapixel front shooter. The battery is also a healthy size considering this will be a cheap device, with 2,500 mAh. We can only assume that the weak processor is what will keep this device so cost-effective.
